Guiding Principles
We plan and organize worldwide maritime & logistics services with first-class customer support and experienced know-how. We fulfill the individual and complex requirements of our customers better than the competition. Personal contact and accessibility are our top priorities.
We make our contribution to protecting the environment by being aware of our responsibility and taking this into account in everything we do. We take our social responsibility seriously and ensure a healthy and safe working environment in which we follow true family values.
We provide our principals and customers with solution- and success-oriented maritime services. Hanseatic traditions and modernity, established customer relationships and close ties to our employees and customers are at the top of our list of priorities.
Values such as loyalty and partnership are important to us. We are passionate about what we do every day and about new projects. We take every customer and their individual requirements seriously. As a competent partner, we work closely with our customers and suppliers.
We are known in the market for our above-average level of service. We maintain open, proactive and consistent communication. This applies both to our work with our customers and to our internal cooperation. We ensure a stable return on investment through high customer loyalty, a digital system landscape and customized services.
We want to promote and encourage the individual development of our employees as well as a sense of ecological responsibility. This is the only way we can be an attractive employer for motivated and qualified employees.
Since starting our business in 1964, we have built a reputation as a fair, honest and reliable (in short: ethical) company, both towards our customers, suppliers and all other business partners, and towards the environment with which and in which we do business.
This reputation is one of our most important success factors and has its origins in doing what we believe is right - fair, with integrity and sustainable.
To maintain and promote our ethical behavior in the global marketplace, we have established a set of binding and unambiguous behavioral guidelines and compiled them in this internal Code of Conduct.
We expect and require all of our leaders to live and communicate them, and we expect all PWL employees to adhere to this Code of Conduct.
Violations of the policies will result in appropriate action, up to and including termination of employment or civil prosecution, including claims for damages.
Our ongoing effort is to firmly establish this Code of Conduct within our company.
Code of Conduct
The PWL Group undertakes to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, to act in a socially and environmentally responsible manner and to conduct its business in accordance with ethical principles. For our employees we assume that the principles of ecological, social and ethical behavior are observed and integrated into the corporate culture. We also expect the same behavior from all of our suppliers. We also strive to continuously optimize our entrepreneurial activities and services in terms of sustainability and encourage our suppliers to contribute equally.
The Code of Conduct for suppliers is based on national laws and regulations as well as international conventions such as the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Guidelines on Children's Rights and Entrepreneurship, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the international labor standards of the International Labor Organization.
The principles formulated in this code of conduct for suppliers form an integral part of the business relationship between the PWL Group and its suppliers. Suppliers within the meaning of this code are all natural and legal persons who supply the PWL Group with products or provide services for the PWL Group. They undertake to comply with the principles and requirements of this Code of Conduct and to oblige their subcontractors to comply with the standards and regulations set out in this document. If the principles described in the Code of Conduct are not complied with, the PWL Group reserves the right to re-evaluate the continuation of the business relationship and to terminate it immediately if there are serious violations.
