Our history
Since the foundation of Peter W. Lampke GmbH & Co. KG in 1964, the PWL Group has developed from a pure ship and clearance broker into an internationally active shipping and logistics service provider.
The PWL Group is an owner-managed company in its third generation with around 240 employees at nine locations (Bremen, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven, Stade, Duisburg, Rostock, Frankfurt and Birkenwerder).
1964
- Foundation of Peter W. Lampke GmbH & Co. KG in Bremen, today known as PWL Group.
1997
- Christian Koopmann enters the circle of shareholders of the PWL Group next to Peter W. Lampke and his father Peter Koopmann.

1998
- Foundation of China Shipping Agency (Germany) as a Joint Venture, today renamed to COSCO Shipping Lines (Germany) GmbH.
2000
Christian von Georg joins the PWL Group as a further managing partner.
2003
Acquisition of LPL Lehnkering Projects + Logistics GmbH, since 2007 renamed to LPL Projects & Logistics GmbH.
2006
Foundation of the company Shipexpress (Europe) Agency GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg.
2007
Launch of PWL Worldwide Logistics GmbH & Co. KG with headquarter in Bremen.

- Formation of LPL Automotive GmbH in Bremerhaven.
2010
Alexander Napp joins PWL Port Services GmbH & Co. KG as managing partner.
2011
PWL Port Services GmbH & Co. KG acquires Neptun Schiffahrts-Agentur GmbH with offices in Wilhelmshaven and Bremen.
2017
The PWL Group becomes member of the international Multiport Agency Network.
2019
PWL Worldwide Logistics GmbH & Co. KG becomes founding member in the reefer networks Cold Chain Connect und X2 Cold Chain.
2020
PWL Port Services GmbH & Co. KG is appointed German partner of the globally acting port agency group Inchcape Shipping Services.
2022
Peter Koopmann leaves the PWL Group as managing partner.
2023
Coraly von Georg joins the PWL Group as new managing partner. Together with Christian Koopmann she will lead the company into its 3rd generation.
2023
The PWL Group becomes the first European port and logistics partner of COSCO RoRo Carriers.
